I am Brett Stewart. I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. I love to travel across Iowa and the rest of the Midwest. My interests are motorcycles, photography, coffee, and the great outdoors.
Some of you may ask what drew me to photography? I want to capture the many scenes of the Midwest and rural America through a lens.
In March of 2018, I picked up my first DSLR camera and developed an interest in photography immediately. I educate myself via reading, using my camera and taking classes. During 2018, I made many new friends who were willing to share their skillset with me. I am very appreciative of this and hope to reciprocate to others down the line. What I have discovered since starting, is that you can express so many things through a lens.
In September of 2018, I joined the Des Moines Camera Club and have been learning skills from the club. They have let me share my experiences as well with them. In October of 2018, I became part of Wayfare Collective which is a collective group of photographers with a common interest in the world of photography. In November of 2018, I joined a non-profit group called Cameras For Conservancy. Our mission is to inspire others to become more involved in nature and deepen the relationship with nature and the natural world through photography. Our group enjoys providing photography services to organizations that work with our environment.
My goal one day is to become a full-time photographer and explore the world through a lens. I want to inspire others to pick up a camera and see the image that they can capture.
Lastly, some may inquire if I am selling my work or doing photos for people or businesses? Yes, I am interested in doing that.
